James Paul Baratta currently serves as the board director of the North American Collegiate League (NACL), a nonprofit he established in January 2019. With the organization, James Paul Baratta helps college-age gamers gain scholarships through playing international video game tournaments professionally.
Alongside his role with NACL, Mr. Baratta is the CEO of FT Empire, a business development firm he founded in 2017. In this position he offers brand development, social media management, and other marketing services to clients in the Esports industry. In addition, he works with a roster of 20 influencers, offering 360 player representation.
Before his Esports-focused career, Mr. Baratta was a business affairs associate at the Santa Monica-based Universal Music Publishing Group, where he negotiated copyright deals with a number of major organizations on behalf of the firm.
James Paul Baratta holds a JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and a BA in international relations, which he earned from the University of Southern California.
